For four years, I provided photography and videography services to small businesses and clients seeking to establish an online presence. During this time, I maintained retainer agreements with clients while also undertaking numerous one-time projects. Towards the conclusion of 2019, Eventspec Engineering approached me with an offer to join their team as an in-house photographer/videographer. This role evolved rapidly, expanding into quality control responsibilities and eventually culminating in my appointment as a Quality Control Manager. I embraced every challenge presented to me by Eventspec Engineering, transitioning away from freelance work to pursue my passion for engineering.
Eventspec Engineering | Quality Control Manager | Mar 2020 – Dec 2023 (4 years)
My duties encompassed conducting pre, mid, and final dimensional inspections on various components, employing a spectrum of inspection methods spanning from micrometer measurements to comparing Faro 3D Laser Scan cloud points with CAD Models using Solidworks & Polyworks software.
Additionally, I meticulously maintained records of previous orders through the utilisation of video and image and dimensional analysis. Ensuring adherence to ISO standards and Health and Safety protocols was integral to my role, as evidenced by my certification at NQF Level 2 as a Health and Safety Representative. I actively participated in all facets of the inspection process.
